The following are just a few examples of my repairs, circular and custom work.
Where it all began. This full custom pack was a personal project back when I was still making canvas boat covers. I wanted to experiment with different attachment points and closure style. Namely the waterproof zip up top instead of the usual buckle(s) roll top closure. There are definitely aspects to change on the next one, but this is still going strong after 3 years of abuse.
Materials: 210D HDPE Gridstop, LiteSkin® LS21
This Karrimor rain jacket was destined for landfill due to the seam sealing peeling away.
With the fabric and zips still being in good condition, there was no reason for it to go to waste.
There was enough material within this jacket for a small frame bag as well as some leftover for another item (or two!)
From rain jacket to running vest. This was made from a combination of materials including a ‘no longer waterproof’ rain jacket and new dyneema stretch mesh for the side pockets. It has a 5L capacity, 1.5L water bladder compartment, bungee side compression, front zip, top lid key pocket, and draw cord top access.
This front pocket zip on an Osprey pack was one of the more complicated replacements I’ve done due to the interior pocket. Though it made the end result all the more satisfying.
Zips are often the first part of a pack to fail. Most zips are relatively easy to replace and can give the pack plenty more life.

Macpac Pursuit 40L pack - This pack had holes caused by rodents on just about every corner on the top of the pack. Nothing that can’t be fixed with a good patch repair.

A well-loved Simond crash pad that was bursting at the seams. This crash pad had a lot of life left in the foam but the entire side border was tearing away. As well as some torn webbing and expertly taped field repairs.
I replaced the whole outside border and some webbing so it’s back in shape for plenty more fun at the basin.
A custom climbing rope bag I was commissioned to make based on the Black Diamond chute rope bag. However, I altered the size slightly and made the rope tarp detachable.
